A MAN has been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds by the courts over his use of a blue badge.
The case of Ali Raza, of Penketh, was heard recently before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates heard how it related to an incident in Liverpool city centre on December 134 last year.
The 54-year-old, of Warrington Road, was charged with unlawful use of a disabled person’s badge in relation to the parking of a vehicle.
The court heard how Raza parked his vehicle in a restricted location on Bixteth Street.
A blue badge, to help disabled people to park, was used – but the badge holder was not present, resulting in a misuse of the badge.
Raza pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a total of £408.
This is broken down into a fine of £184, statutory surcharge to fund victim services of £74 and court costs of £150.
